We have an exciting fulltime (40 hour per week), permanent opportunity for an early career academic staff member to join us; providing research-informed teaching and masters thesis supervision in our social work education programmes.
We are seeking someone who has working experience with Maori, Pacific or other Indigenous teaching models who can apply extensive practice experience into their teaching.
The salary range is from $91,000 - $109,000 this will be dependent on experience.

The School of Counselling, Human Services and Social Work brings together academic staff with expertise in teaching, scholarship, research, and practice in the main disciplines of social work, counselling, professional supervision and leadership across community, government, and not-for-profit sectors. We ofer an undergraduate programme in Social Work and postgraduate programmes in Social Work, Counselling, Professional Supervision, and Social and Community Leadership.
Qualifications
He kōrero mōu | About you
To be successful in this position, you will be a registered social worker, with demonstrated experience in the incorporation of mātauranga Māori and/or indigenous Pasifika knowledges in social work practice, particularly in the field of mental health. You should be able to articulate a clear understanding of the significance to the professional practice of te Tiriti o Waitangi and tikanga Māori and/or indigenous Pasifika knowledge. We are seeking either an established academic or an emerging researcher who has recently completed their PhD or is working towards completing a PhD.
